Three female patients with Crohn's disease who had given birth and were engaged in child-rearing had semi-structured interviews. Qualitative analysis of the interview results identified the following eight categories: Comfortable experience in the pregnancy period, Anxiety about genetics and malformations, Thoroughly prepared for childbirth, Balancing one's physical condition with child-rearing learning from past failures, Gratitude toward family members, Naturally acquired concern by the child, Having nobody to consult with regarding medical treatment and child-rearing, and Satisfaction and confidence as a woman who has given birth and is rearing a child. Acceptance and cooperation by family members were found to be encouraging and important during childbirth and child-rearing. However, since women encountered some issues difficult to discuss, they sometimes had to individually worry about and deal with such issues. As women and mothers, they felt satisfied after overcoming failures and learning individual ways of dealing with such issues.
