The purpose of this study was to examine factors involved in a sexual assault crisis in early adolescence. An anonymous questionnaire survey was conducted during a period of 3 months from July to September, 2013, the subjects being 600 students of both sexes aged 14 to 15 at 6 junior high schools. Consequently, 85.2% of the subjects or 511 students (237 males and 274 females) agreed to respond to the questionnaire which included the following question items: use of the Internet; attitude toward sexual intercourse; awareness of dating DV (domestic violence); awareness of male-female relationship; and experience of suffering sexual assault. Compared with the subjects with no sexual assault experience, those who suffered sexual assault showed higher frequency of sending their messages orphotos through the Internet to a person whom they had never met before. The latter group tended to be less negative about having sexual intercourse than the former.
