First, the author discusses the concept and importance of information-seeking behavior. Second, the author addresses breast cancer patients' information needs and sources. Third, the relevance and assessment of preference and experience are discussed. Conclusion: Information-seeking is thought to be part of the problem-solving process that is aimed at achieving the goals of receiving the best medical treatment, recovering from illness, and improving a patient's health and quality of life. Information-seeking is an important part of decision making with regard to treatment selection and coping with cancer. The information sought by breast cancer patients varies depending on the individual.
